Title 6

The Law of Sin and Death has been Defeated!

We know that YHVH's own laws prevents us to be judged for Adam's sin:

Deut. 24:16, "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin."
YHVH would never violate His Own Law!  What the Bible teaches is that through the one act of disobedience to the Law of YHVH not to eat of the Tree of knowledge, Adam brought into the world "sin" and as a result of Adam's sin his body began to die and he passed DEATH to all men and brought sin into the world.
Rom. 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"
Having "sinned" Adam's body went from eternal genetically to the genetic condition of "dying".  Adams body prior to sin was not dying and Sin was not in the world.  Adam didn't die the day he at the tree, his body changed and he died over a period of hundreds of years and by disobeying YHVH sin was brought into this world.  Over the millennia since, though human breeding, that genetic death sentence now occurs in less than a hundred years.  The Bible says that death, not sin, is passed on in the body.  Sin was brought into the world (not our body) through one act of disobedience.  So now the "law" of sin and death reigns over humanity.  We are all predisposed to "sin" in our flesh through temptation, and the penalty of sin is death which is in our genetic structure because of Adam.  So the sentence of "death" is justified because we all individually fall the the temptation of sin in this world.  This cycle had to be broken.  A man not God had to do it and had to come and live in obedience and be perfected through suffering and die innocent.
Hebrews 5:8-9
8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience (to YHVH) by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected (by YHVH through obedience and suffering), He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.
Now, we come to the Messiah, he was that man.  Through the Messiah, one act of the obedience of one man (not God) came salvation from death, again we see that DEATH not "sin" came through Adam genetically... and by "man" not "God" came the resurrection of the dead:
1 Corinthians 15 (New King James Version)
20 But now the Messiah is risen from the dead, and has become (the firstborn son upon resurrection not birth to Mary/Josephthe firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man (Adamcame death, by Man (Yahshua) also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in (one human) Adam all die, even so in (one human), the Messiah, all (the sons of YHWH) shall be made alive (begotten by YHWH as sons through resurrection). 23 But each one (of the sons of YHWH) in his own order (after Yahshua, the eldest son):  The Messiah the firstfruits (first and of the sons to be resurrected), afterward those who are the the Messiah's at His coming (First Resurrection when the rest of the sons will be begotten).
the Spirit of Life has broken the Law of Sin and Death as Yahshua was perfected over a life of being tempted with no sin and being obedient to the Law of YHVH he died an innocent man and defeated death.  And yes, Lee, it was through a system of obedience and suffering Yahshua, the man, became the "Eternal Father" or "forefather of eternal salvation" and made righteous in the eyes of YHVH:
Hebrews 5:8-9
8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience (to YHVH) by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected (through obedience and suffering), He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him

And now, to all of us who follow in his footsteps in obedience to YHVH, we too are declared Righteous not by faith alone, but by a process of obedience and suffering through faith:

James 1:22

22 Do not merely listen to the word (The Torah, there was no NT), and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Romans 2:13

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

James 2
Faith and Deeds (works of the law).  Faith alone does not save, nor does deeds alone.  You must have both.

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”  Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.  20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is uselessd]">[d]21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”e]">[e] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Yahshua, as a mere man not God, laterally broke the "law of sin and death" and in doing so defeated the chains of death that hold us, all humanity, in bondage:

Romans 8:2
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Yahshua being fully human, denied the fleshly desire to "sin" and obeyed YHVH even to the point of willingly going to his own death (which was not Yahshua's own will.  It is the ultimate demonstration that Yahshua set aside his fleshly will to live, and obeyed YHVH's will that he die).  To save us, YHVH literally took a human being and perfected him through suffering and made Yahshua our "pioneer of our salvation" our "forefather of Eternal Salvation" yes even the title "Eternal Father" all meaning the same thing.  YHVH orchestrated our salvation through His human Messiah which was His Plan from the beginning prophesied in Genesis where the seed of a woman would crush the head of the serpent.  It took the blood of an innocent human to be acceptable for the forgiveness of sin for all the rest of His sons.  This is a family YHVH is building or "begetting".

Hebrews 2:10-18

10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that YHVH, for whom and through whom everything exists, (YHVH) should make the pioneer of their salvation (Yahshua) perfect through what he suffered11 Both the one who makes people holy (YHVH) and those who are made holy (Yahshua and all his brother/sisters) are of the same family. So Yahshua is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.a]">[a] 12 He says,

“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”b]">[b] 13 And again, “I (Yahshua) will put my trust in him (YHVH).”c]">[c] And again he says, “Here am I, and the children YHVH has given me.”d]">[d]

14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity (he was human too) so that by his death (the death of a human not God) he, Yahshua, might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. 17 For this reason he (Yahshua) had to be made like them (he was made human just like I was),e]">[e] fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest (who are chosen from among men) in service to YHVH, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people (himself included). 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Paul is teaching above the exact same message I am trying to convey.  Since the children of YHVH are first born flesh and blood, the Messiah too had to be born flesh and blood too to atone for them.  Because it takes the blood of a human to purchase human salvation and break the power of deathd. No where and I mean no where does it say it takes God to die to save us.  For this reason, the Messiah HAD TO BE HUMAN not God or a demigod.  He could not have been YHVH in the flesh.  He had to be and was human.... fully human in EVERY WAY so says verse 17.  In NO WAY was he divine accept that his body was filled with the Spirit of God upon being born again just like us.

Now, having proven himself as a human that could obey and withstand the temptation of his flesh... Yahshua was chosen by YHVH from among all mankind as High Priest to serve Him for eternity.  Yahshua HAD to die not only for us but for himself.  He had to make that sacrifice as human High Priest...  you see below, Yahshua as High Priest is chosen from among men in vs. 3 "he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins, as for the people, so also for himself".  I get asked all the time "how could a man do all the work of salvation, it HAD TO BE GOD".  That is not only not true, it is clearly stated that the Messiah had to be a human and the sacrifice at the cross for humanity had to come at the hands of a human high priest for the people and for himself.

Hebrews 5

The Perfect High Priest chosen from among men

1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2 he can deal gently with the ignorant and misguided, since he himself also is beset with weakness; 3 and because of it he is obligated to offer sacrifices for sins, as for the people, so also for himself. 4 And no one takes the honor to himself, but receives it when he is called by God, even as Aaron was
So also Yahshua did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He (YHVH) who said to Him

"YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU";

6 just as He says also in another passage,

"YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK."

7 In the days of His flesh (when he was but human), He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One (God, YHVH, The Shema) able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. 8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience (to the ONE GOD) from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been made perfect (Yahshua was not born perfect being simply a man), He became (he was not always, he BECAME after his submission and death on Passover) to all those who obey Him (YHVH) the source of eternal salvation, 10 being designated by YHVH as a high priest (from among men verse 1) according to the order of Melchizedek. 11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.

The High Priest in Israel at the time even knew this concept, that is WHY they sacrificed Yahshua.  Caiaphas when confronted with Yahshua realized it was "better for one innocent man to die, then for the entire nation of Israel to perish".  Caiaphas considers, with "the Chief Priests and Pharisees", what to do about Yahshua, whose influence was spreading. They worry that if they "let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and destroy both our holy place and our nation." Caiaphas makes a political calculation, suggesting that it would be better for "one man" to die than for "the whole nation" to be destroyed".  What Caiaphas didn't realize is that he was exactly right but didn't understand what he was saying.  Yahshua, however, did understand exactly what was required.  One innocent man had to die, so that the children of Israel would not perish.

Now, DEATH still reigned in Yahshua's genetic body (made evident by the fact he died) because he was human, however that sentence was not justified in Yahshua because he had not sinned.  So, death could not hold Yahshua... he was innocent of sin therefore did not deserve fleshly penalty of death in his body.  By breaking the cycle of "sin and you die" Yahshua literally defeated Death, broke the cycle "law" of sin and you die, and purchased the salvation for the children of Israel.  So Caiaphas got it right, even though he didn't realize it.

Now, how does that apply to you and me?  Yahshua was destined by YHVH to be the Passover Sacrifice for our sin IF we so believed.  So our having Faith in Yahshua as that sacrifice and faith in the Promise of YHVH to accept it... we are washed white as snow in the eyes of YHVH by the blood of the Lamb.  Our faith is demonstrated by our works in obedience to His Laws which overturn Adam's disobedience.  We, like Yahshua, put aside our own will in favor of YHVH's.  Having put our Faith in the cleansing blood of Yahshua that YHVH accepts his sacrifice on our behalf, we then die innocent as well.  Because the condition of "guilt vs. innocence" is not based on our works but on the Righteousness of YHVH.  If he finds us innocent in the blood of Yahshua, WE ARE INNOCENT of sin when we die.  And the evidence that we have "faith" is that we obey His Laws.  That is why there are 3 witnesses in the Book of Life.  The witness of the Father that we are His sons, the witness of His Word that we are obedient, and the witness of His Spirit that we have been born again.

Death cannot hold an innocent man.  So, like Yahshua, death will be defeated by each of the sons of YHVH as those who have Faith in Yahshua and demonstrate love for YHVH in obedience to Him will be found innocent in the Book of Life!  The Spirit of Life in us will defeat the law of sin and death.   And we too will be resurrected from the grave as death cannot hold us as a penalty of sin because we die sinless too.

The "Sin therefore you Die" cycle has been broken.  Death has been defeated by one man.  Not God.  It took the blood of an innocent man to die to break the law of "sin and death".
